New Episode of the JogTunes Indie Podcast: Reggae Rocks!
July 31st, 2010
Our Mevio listing and Mevio's Music Alley Listing. Our Odeo Channel. Our Podcast Alley listing. Our podlounge page. And on podnova, check us out here.
Reggae and Rock are probably the best genres for beat matched workouts. Blends of the 2 genres are emerging and that's to our benefit. The beat is unmistakable and motivating. I've got a great mix that features reggae, rock and some mashing of the two.
Several JTIP fans have mentioned that they like the interval running episodes, so here's another one. BPMs of 150s to 160s will be interspersed with speed bursts of short second segments of "Barbarella" at 184 by Loomis and the Lust. Their entire track will also appear at the end of this episode.
Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info on this episode here.
As always, I welcome your comments. Please send them to comments at jogtunes.com, post them on our JogTunes.com facebook fan page, or send me a tweet.

A big thanks to everyone who has joined our Twitter and Facebook pages and for the kind mentions we've been getting.
And here's a prop from Fiona from a blog: "I like to run to the jogtunes podcasts. I like how the pace starts slow and builds etc. I also like the interval training podcasts?"

Mo McMorrow Featured on a New Episode of the JogTunes Indie Podcast
Mo McMorrow
This month, serendipity reigns. While I was attending a Hedda Layne gig at the Belmont in Austin, Texas, Mo McMorrow was sitting at my table. It didn't take long to find out that she's a singer songwriter and well known on the Austin scene. I checked her tunes out on MySpace. They turned out to be great music by an impressive artist, and a perfect beat-matching runset. So here's a sequenced set of Mo's tunes with a taste of my other favorite Austin artists, Hedda Layne and Brett Low.
This is another interval running session. After some warming up and easy running, Mo's fast tune, "God Knows," will provide the interval 193 BPM, 90-second speed bursts. These will alternate with fast walks that can also be jogged slowly. A full length, uninterrupted version of "God Knows" appears at the end of the show. If you're not in shape for interval workouts, run these segments at a slower pace or shorten your stride. The most important thing is to run safe.
Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info on this episode on the episode page on JogTunes.com.
Also, please note that the workout session is approximately 40 minutes. The total episode time is 51 minutes due to the addition of full length versions of segmented and voiced-over tracks.

New Episode of the JogTunes Indie Podcast - Great Music Projects
This episode breaks with my short and sweet midmonth format by presenting another classic JTIP 2 segment session. This is 28 minutes of sequenced BPM running followed by a 17 min sprint section. I've got 2 veteran JogTunes artists and 5 new groups. There's great rock, reggae, world, and loads of awesome electronica.
The sprint session maxes out at 182 BPM. If you're not used to beat-matching that tempo, slow your pace or shorten your stride. If you have a pulse monitor, this is a good time to use it. The main thing is to run safe.
Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info on the episode's JogTunes page.

Alabaster and Tristan Clopet Headline Latest JogTunes Indie Podcast
Meet a most impressive, Toronto born, Miami based singer song/writer, Tristan Clopet, and, from Seattle, the awesome, 6 member rock group, Alabaster. Together they provide great music and a perfect beat-matched, interval workout session.
This is a 40 minute session and again I present some fast segments for interval workouts. So watch your pulse monitors and only run the speed bursts if you're comfortable at that speed. You can always shorten your stride or run slower. The key is to run safe. Interval running is not for the faint of heart. Please be sure you're fit for this workout. If you have any doubts you still can enjoy this runset buy taking the intervals at a slower pace and/or by shortening your stride.
Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info below these show notes.

Maree McRae Featured on the Latest Episode of The JogTunes Indie Podcast
Maree McRae
I'm happy to present the impressive artistry of the Denver based singer/songwriter Maree McRae. Her music is not only great for listening but also perfect for beat-matched interval running. The short interval segments are from 2 of her tunes and run at 186 and 190. A longer, slower interval is full track and runs at 179. Don't fret. I've included the complete versions of the faster tunes at the end of the show.
Interval running is not for the feint of heart. Please be sure you're fit for this workout. If you have any doubts you still can enjoy this runset by taking the intervals at a slower pace and/or by shortening your stride.

It's All Megaphone on Episode #50 of the JogTunes Indie Podcast
I played a Megaphone track on my last Christmas show and vowed that I would bring this awesome rock band back for a solo engagement. All of their podsafe tunes are featured on this mid-month episode of the JTIP and sequenced for a really fun 30 minute run.
It's mostly easy going jogging and running with a long interval run at 172 BPM. If you're not used to that speed, run it for 30 seconds then slow your pace or shorten your stride. If you're comfortable with that pace, enjoy over 3 minutes of flat out running.
As always, I welcome your comments. Please send them to comments at jogtunes.com, post them on our JogTunes.com facebook fan page, or send me a tweet.

New Tunes and Podcast on Jogtunes.com
I just moved to Austin, Texas, and had little time to post tunes and blog. I'm getting back to it and found some intriguing music for great beat-matched workouts. Them Crooked Vultures appeared on Saturday Night Live and now we've got 3 of their tunes from their new album with BPMs of 153, 153, and 186.
Massive Attack just released their latest album Heligoland. It's a different sound for matching your stride. We posted 2 runnables at 158 and 185 BPM.
Peter posted his "tested" list for January and from that list I picked Green Day's "Murder City", running fast at 182 and The 69 Eyes' "Some Kind of Magick", running comfortably at 160.
