New Running Music, Jogging Music and jogTunes News

Hi music-paced running fans.

We just added more songs at jogTunes.com. Come see tunes from Wolfmother, AFI, Birdman & Lil Wayne, BHI, KRAB & Lil Jon, and Neil Young. The tempos are in the range of 152 to 172 BPM, even the hip-hop/rap. (Just a reminder: about half of the hip-hop/rap on jogTunes.com is in the 80-100 range. You can double-time the 80-90 BPM tunes and run them at 160 to 180 BPM. It's really fun. Or you can just walk to them to warm up or cool down.)

Also, we put an entry in Wikipedia for "Running Music." You're invited to contribute. Check it out at Running Music Wiki.

Happy running and enjoy the music.

Running Music, Sport Music, Nikeplus, and JogTunes

iTunes just posted a new catagory inside the Music Store: Nike Sport Music. There you'll find compilations and iMixes intended primarily for running. They boast that the music is "made to move you." In their promo, Paula Radcliffe even alludes to the concept of music-paced running. But, rarely is there a song in their collection that matches the pace of a runner. Only jogTunes.com provides a specially selected listing of songs whose tempos fall within the range of a runner's cadence. We're guessing that some runners may like the Nikeplus shoes and the Sport Music playlists. We know they'll love running to jogTunes.

Also, please check out the website, jogTunes.com. It's got some additions including tunes by Sublime, The Fixx, Moby, and the Beastie Boys. Just start scrolling down on the first page or find the songs by using the artist selection field. Like Nike/iTunes we have playlists. But, better yet, you can make your own lists that match your running time and artist preferences.

Enjoy the run. Enjoy the music.
