Reggae and Rock are probably the best genres for beat matched workouts. Blends of the 2 genres are emerging and that's to our benefit. The beat is unmistakable and motivating. I've got a great mix that features reggae, rock and some mashing of the two.

Several JTIP fans have mentioned that they like the interval running episodes, so here's another one. BPMs of 150s to 160s will be interspersed with speed bursts of short second segments of "Barbarella" at 184 by Loomis and the Lust. Their entire track will also appear at the end of this episode.

Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info on this episode here.

As always, I welcome your comments. Please send them to comments at jogtunes.com, post them on our JogTunes.com facebook fan page, or send me a tweet.

At JogTunes.com, you'll find purchase links to all of the tunes from all of our podcast episodes as well as over 1700 BPM rated workout music from label and indie artists.

Thanks for working out with me. And, enjoy the music!

When I first heard Louinel Jean’s new song, “Power of Love”, I immediately started planning this episode. It’s a perfect theme for the end of a tumultuous decade as it sets the tone for what I’m sure we all hope will be a smoother 10 years aided by the power of love. All of the tunes are about love, and range in BPMs from walking paces to tempos for all out running.

LOUINEL JEAN feat. SUSHANE HOLMES-POWER OF LOVE

As this is my third anniversary show, I reminisce by bringing back some old tunes as well as introduce some new ones. I found most of the new tunes on Music Alley, and for that I’m grateful to Mevio and their fine service to music podcasting.

  • Lovespirals - Love Survives - BPM 168
  • Melou -Sweet Love - BPM 110
  • A Band Called Quinn - I Wish You Love - BPM 173
  • Strangers in Wonderland - Will Your Love Fade - BPM 161
  • Artists New to the JTIP:

New Episode of the JogTunes Indie Podcast Featuring Reggae and Louinel Jean

The latest episode (#38) of the JogTunes Indie Podcast is out the door!

A year and 1/2 ago I published my first predominantly reggae episode and it ranked high on my download stats. Reggae is just plain easy and fun to run to. On this show, not only do I bring reggae to the forefront again but I feature an outstanding musician, composer, producer, and humanitarian, Louinel Jean.

Jean is a Haitian who moved to Jamaica in 1998. A man of deep compassion, Jean composes and performs music that not only entertains but inspires and informs. He calls for us to be our best and to be sensitive to the hardship of others, especially children.

Other tunes not included in this show keenly increase our awareness oif injustice. Check out two outstanding works on this theme: Darfur Outcry on Garageband.com and Justice on iTunes.

Jean first graced my show on episode #23 and then again on #33 with 3 of his most popular works. On this episode, I replay these tunes along with 2 newer Louinel Jean tracks, and tunes by 4 other artists in the reggae and dub traditions.
