New Tunes on JogTunes by Springsteen, The Fray, Dierks Bentley, and Others.
I posted an eclectic collection of new tunes that you can find on the home page and the tunes list of jogtunes.com. Please check out the runnable songs by Springsteen, The Fray, Dierks Bentley, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. The BPMs range from 141 to 181.

JogTunes Posts Great Tunes from the Inauguration and a Podcast Episode That's Mostly Jazz
I thought it would be fun to find some runnable tunes by the artists who performed at the historic inauguration. It wasn't difficult. Check them out on the home page of jogtunes.com. The performers include Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Usher, Queen Latifah, and Josh Groban. Pretty impressive list, no?

JogTunes Posts Running Music by Conor Oberst, The Faint, The Ting Tings and More

Peter Andersson, our veteran contributor, sent me a great new list. From it I posted tunes by Gemini Five, Darryl Worley, and Gotthard with a BPM range of 147 to 179. Here's his website for more great tunes and commentary.
Runner's World's discussion thread, What song finished your run today?, provided some fine runnable tunes. GoDaddy posted Tick Tick Boom by The Hives. It rocks at a leisurely jog of 136 BPM. I also found Walk Idiot Walk by the same band on iTunes. It's a faster jog at 147.
Angels & Airwaves is well represented on the thread. Daddy_go_run listed Call to Arms. I had this on jogtunes.com and added runnerdad1's suggestion, Secret Crowds. The BPMs are 182 and 155 respectively.
Thanks to DaniAPotter's passion for Fall Out Boy's album, From Under the Cork Tree, I found 5 perfect running tunes with those fun long names:

JogTunes posts new music by Cheap Trick, The Hives, and many more artists, for BPM running and other paced workouts
I've been on a 2-week vacation and just got back to adding new tracks to our Tunes List. You'll find an eclectic list of 20 new tunes. Here are the details:
Hypnostep, on the Runner's World forum thread "The Best Running Music EVER", posted a great list of dance and electronic music with BPMs. I listed tunes from the list by Juno Reactor,the Benassi Bros., and the Propellerheads. The BPMs vary from the 120s (great for fast walking to the 140s for easy jogging.
Girlwithcurl, favoring faster paces, posted a great rock/pop/alternative list on the same thread. The tunes, artists, and BPMs include:
"West of the Fields (Live)" by R.E.M. in the album Live: From London works out at 164 BPM.
"Everyone Nose (All the Girls Standing In the Line for the Bathroom)" by N.E.R.D. from Seeing Sounds is an easy going 141.
Peter Andersson is our veteran contributor. His picks for this week include tunes by Nickelback, The B-52's, and Skew Siskin. You've got to read his comments on Skew Siskin's tune, "Shake Me." It can be found on his website in his top 50 list (it's #24).

JogTunes Adds Our Take on Nikeplus' and iTunes' Lance Armstrong: Run Longer Compilation

A country song: "Picture to Burn" by Taylor Swift at a leisurely walk of 106 BPM

UBE2Philly drew my attention to Rilo Kiley so I posted our first Rilo Kiley tune: "Does He Love You" at 157.
"Star Bodies" at 152 by the New Pornographers
UBE reminded me of Spoon and I found "The Way We Get" from the OC Mix 1 running at 150
Team Dresch's "Uncle Phranc" is a first post for this band. The BPM is 167
"Finest Hour" by Velocity Girl runs at 163.
From the iTunes Store promos I added:
Another Timbaland tune to our list. It's "Apologize" featuring OneRepublic from Shock Value. The tempo is a fast warm-up walk at 119.
"My Bra" by Mya. The BPM is 166. iTunes states that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this song go to charities supporting breast cancer awareness. If you want more details and have the US iTunes Music Store running, click here.
"Any Road" from George Harrison's 2002 album Brainwashed (Remastered). The BPM is 162.

JogTunes Group Formed and Posts New Running Music and Podcast Episode
I'm happy to announce the formation of the The JogTunes Group, a DBA licensed by the State of Utah and operating under B & G Business Services LLC. The JTG is dedicated to providing resources for working out exactly to the tempos (BPMs) of great signed and indie artists' music. The flagship website is JogTunes.com which lists runnable songs and playlists by signed artists. Associated websites are JogTunesIndie.com, our primary site for our podcast, The JogTunesIndie Podcast, and our most recent JTG addition, BikeToTheBeat.com. The latter is designed for stationary cyclists who enjoy working out to music and pedaling to the beat.
I'm endeavoring to combine these sites into one site to allow more interaction and accessibility. I welcome your comments at comments@jogtunes.com.
I just added more tunes to our Tunes List. Jeff sent in a fine list of runnable songs, all BPM rated. From his list I picked Aerosmith's Pink and Some Unholy War by Amy Winehouse, both in the 170s BPM. Here's his personal website.
Susan's extensive BPM rated list provided me with 2 songs by Blues Traveler and 2 by John Mellencamp with BPMs ranging in the 150s to 180s. Susan's an active aquarunner. Here's her website.
I found KT Tunstall's new album Drastic Fantastic on the iTunes Music Store's new music list. You'll find 3 songs by her on our list. The BPMs are 122, 142, and 155.
Peter, our veteran contributor, pointed me to The Donnas' new album, Bitchin'. You can practically BPM-pace walk and run to the entire album. I selected 5 runnable songs ranging in BPMs from 143 to 170.
Another Peter's Pick on the list is *NSYNC's Bye, Bye, Bye. It runs at 173.

I also just added the single, Radio Nowhere, from Bruce Springsteen's new album, Magic, coming out soon. The BPM is a leisurely 140.

My 13th episode of the JogTunesIndie Podcast is up for running. Please check it out at jogtunesindie.com.
Most of the songs are by artists who have been featured on the Association of Music Podcasting members' shows. Please see the above website for details.
It's my first 1 hour episode. It's divided into a 45 minute segment followed by a 15 minute segment.
It's also the first time that I invite stationary cyclists to try pedaling to the podcast songs. The more recent shows have walking tunes in addition to the running segments. This wider range of BPMs lends itself well to cycling. Please see more about cycling to the beat on BikeToTheBeat.com. Please note that I strongly discourage biking to music on the road. The risks are just too great. So please keep it "stationary."

JogTunes presents BikeToTheBeat.com and welcomes aquarunners
We just launched the beta version of BikeToTheBeat.com. Here's what Dr. Bob, our founder, has to say about our new site:
"Like running to the beat of my songs, I found that pedaling to the beat is also fun and motivating. I'm a big jazz fan so I started with some jazz tunes and then decided to use our entire signed artist, running music database as a resource for biking songs.
"I'm totally aware of the risk of wearing a headset and playing music while riding a bike in heavy traffic and even on country roads. That's why the new site addresses stationary cycling, kinetic training, and biking on rollers.
"The prepared playlists that we posted and will add in the future are sequenced for warm-up, full speed, and cool-down segments. The difference between the playlists for running and biking is the BPM range that are used for warming up and cooling down. I'm encouraging the playing of songs in the 90 to 100 BPM range to start and end the workout. This forces cyclists to set the gears (or resistance) higher and encourages more muscle toning. I expect visitors to the site will make there own varied playlists depending on their workout preferences. The possibilities are obviously limitless.
"Spinners will be looking for songs in with tempos equal to 180 to 200 pedal strokes (90 to 100 revolutions) per minute (equal to 180-200 BPMs). We have some songs on the site in the 180 to 190 range and will be adding up to 210 in the future."

"Like running to the beat of my songs, I found that pedaling to the beat is also fun and motivating. I'm a big jazz fan so I started with some jazz tunes and then decided to use our entire signed artist, running music database as a resource for biking songs.
"I'm totally aware of the risk of wearing a headset and playing music while riding a bike in heavy traffic and even on country roads. That's why the new site addresses stationary cycling, kinetic training, and biking on rollers.
"The prepared playlists that we posted and will add in the future are sequenced for warm-up, full speed, and cool-down segments. The difference between the playlists for running and biking is the BPM range that are used for warming up and cooling down. I'm encouraging the playing of songs in the 90 to 100 BPM range to start and end the workout. This forces cyclists to set the gears (or resistance) higher and encourages more muscle toning. I expect visitors to the site will make there own varied playlists depending on their workout preferences. The possibilities are obviously limitless.
"Spinners will be looking for songs in with tempos equal to 180 to 200 pedal strokes (90 to 100 revolutions) per minute (equal to 180-200 BPMs). We have some songs on the site in the 180 to 190 range and will be adding up to 210 in the future."
