Members of the Nike Forum thread called "What is your favorite POWER song?" consistently post great power songs. For runners who enjoy running to the exact tempos of their music we posted 2 runnable tunes from this thread that fit the running range of 140 to 190 BPM. Thanks, bribel, for Nirvana's Breed. It runs at 162 BPM. Thanks also to ready to rock for We're Not Gonna To Take It by Twisted Sister. It runs at 150. Our opinion is power-type songs don't have to be fast, just motivating. Apparently, these thread members agree.
Runner's World Discussion members also continue to post their favorite running songs and playlists. Here's the link for the latest entries. We posted 3 tunes that are in the BPM range for great running. One member, slammin, suggested the Nevermind album by Nirvana as a great source of running music. In addition to Breed (see above) we posted Stay Away from the same album. The BPM is 167. Member jwwade likes Lose Yourself from Eminem's 8 Mile soundtrack. It runs at an ideal 171. For flat out running at 182 BPM, run1119 offered Tusk by Fleetwood Mac. You've got to check that one out. A big thanks to the Runner's World members for their suggestions.
For fast walkers and runners who like warm-ups we added more tunes in the 120s BPM range. Hedda Layne and Troy Lee Warden are a husband and wife duo and label artists now living in Dallas. We present two of their latest, very impressive works that both walk at a vigorous 128 steps-per-minute.
Peter's Picks for this week are classics. How could you not enjoy running at 151 to Soul Doctor by Foreigner and at 158 to ZZ Top's Got Me Under Pressure. Please go to Peter's great website for more great BPM (and steps-per-minute) ratings and reviews of runnable tunes. Our thanks again go to Peter for his invaluable contributions.
