Our 400th running music song and our 4th podcast from jogTunes.com and JogTunesIndie.com
The songs by Razed in Black and Disturbed are from Peter Andersson's top 50 music-paced running picks. See his list with great reviews (some in English) on his website.
Andy, from Illinois, sent a great list of songs from his running playlist. Two are straight from his list (Slow Motion by Nickelback and Evil Angel by Breaking Benjamin). A third, Sugar, We're Goin' Down, is by Fall Out Boy, another band on his list.
Keane and John Mellencamp have new albums on iTunes. We found two runnable tunes from each. See their new covers with links to the albums on the top of our home page.
Dr. Bob just published the 4th JogTunesIndie Podcast episode. It's got some great new songs by bands found on the fine indie music podcasting network, Insomnia Radio. So if you want to match your running pace for 30 minutes to fine indie music, come on over to JogTunesIndie.com. Got iTunes? You'll find the podcast here.
We're doing some mild redesign of the websites. Tell us what you think at comments@jogtunes.com
Happy running, and enjoy the music!

New Running Music on JogTunes.com by +44, Edguy, Scissor Sisters, Nickelback, Snow Patrol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Akon and Jay-Z.
We also added a new 30-minute music-paced running playlist called Scissor Sisters Plus - A Pop/Rock BPM-Labeled iMix. This link takes you to the playlist page at JogTunes.com where there's a link to the iMix in the iTunes Music Store in the US. The "Sisters" are accompanied by Sheryl Crow and The Donnas. It's a great run!
We also added new functionality to our website. After searching for a BPM range or a genre, the resulting songs are listed in BPM order, from slower to faster. The new function allows you to reverse the order so you can move easily to the faster songs. We hope this will be helpful in finding tunes for your playlists.
Meanwhile, happy running and enjoy the music.

JogTunes.com publishes The JogTunesIndie Podcast, an Independent Music-Paced Running Podcast
Dr. Bob, the founder of jogTunes.com, is the host of the show. It's a 30 minute "run to" format with independent music separated by brief discussions about the artists and the beats-per-minute. The sequence of tunes involves a warm-up, easy run, peak run, easy run, cool-down pattern. There may be more than one song in each section. The source of the music is The Podsafe Music Network. The companion website, jogtunesindie.com, provides the podcast's play and subscription links , playlist, and links to the tunes on the iTunes Music Stores (US, UK, Ireland, and Japan).
We must admit, it was really fun to run to the podcast. The songs are great, motivating, and paced just right.
We look forward to comments about our podcast. Just email them to comments@jogtunes.com.
And stay tuned for more BPM-labeled music at jogTunes.com, coming soon.

JogTunes.com presents more music to run to with a twist of metal
Please also check out Peter's site for his top 50 running music picks. It's mostly in Swedish but the titles are in English. He rates the songs for music-paced running using the phrase "steps-per-minute" to indicate the actual running pace that best fits the song.
Thanks, again, Peter, for your great contribution to music-paced running.

Also, returning "jogTuners" will notice that we've lengthened the tune list on the home page and added the new offerings from Napster and Rhapsody. If you have an MP3 player and don't like having to convert iTunes songs to MP3s, you might want to consider using one of these services. If you do, please click on the ads at jogtunes. It helps pay the bills.
Meanwhile, happy running and enjoy the music.

Thanks Geek News Central for Kind Words About JogTunes
The other truth is that, unbeknownst to Todd, I had already recorded a promo for the new JogTunes Podcast. I know I need to improve the sound quality and maybe pep things up a little...but it's a start.
Since the JTCP (JogTunes Podcast) will provide running music by independent artists, the resource for the tunes will be the Podsafe Music Network. I'll try to pick songs that are sold on iTunes as the PMN is not yet selling songs as of this blog date. The website will be called JogTunesIndie.com.
Here's the promo. Please be patient while I prepare the first podcast. I'll keep you posted.

New Running Music, Jogging Music and jogTunes News
We just added more songs at jogTunes.com. Come see tunes from Wolfmother, AFI, Birdman & Lil Wayne, BHI, KRAB & Lil Jon, and Neil Young. The tempos are in the range of 152 to 172 BPM, even the hip-hop/rap. (Just a reminder: about half of the hip-hop/rap on jogTunes.com is in the 80-100 range. You can double-time the 80-90 BPM tunes and run them at 160 to 180 BPM. It's really fun. Or you can just walk to them to warm up or cool down.)
Also, we put an entry in Wikipedia for "Running Music." You're invited to contribute. Check it out at Running Music Wiki.
Happy running and enjoy the music.

Also, please check out the website, jogTunes.com. It's got some additions including tunes by Sublime, The Fixx, Moby, and the Beastie Boys. Just start scrolling down on the first page or find the songs by using the artist selection field. Like Nike/iTunes we have playlists. But, better yet, you can make your own lists that match your running time and artist preferences.
Enjoy the run. Enjoy the music.
